from Dreumel

“Annie and I took over my father’s farm in 1978. It was a mixed farm, with cattle and pigs, but we’ve turned into a dairy farm. We live here in the beautiful polder land between the rivers the Maas and the Waal, close to Dreumel where we grow the best grass on the heavy river clay. Our daughter, Anke, will continue to farm here; she milks our cows and looks after them. We believe that it’s important to care for animals as best we can, and we do our best to encourage wild birds to nest in the meadows. We drink milk fresh from the cows every morning, but the rest is saved for our cheese.”

Regards, Kees.
